L2 Support Engineer is a key role in our growing and dynamic Cognos & Planning Analytics organization.
This role is working at the forefront of one of IBM's major growth initiatives – IBM Data & AI.

Based in IBM Poland Krakow Software Lab, our fast-paced and diverse Support team provides technical support to our many Cloud and on-premise customers. This is not an L1/Call Centre role, we are looking for confident and technically astute individuals with a strong desire to work in a second-third level support environment facing challenging technical problems. We are hiring Junior, Regular, and Senior Engineers.
Your Role and Responsibilities :


Work in an Agile, collaborative environment to provide technical assistance to customers using the existing knowledge base, through problem determination/troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
Set-up test cases and reproduce complex customer environments
Work with experienced support engineers, consultants, and product development to resolve difficult technical issues.
Recommend and/or implement new solutions or improvements to existing technical support tools, procedures, and processes.
Create or enhance knowledge assets for the knowledge base (how-to guides, technical notes, or similar)

Required Professional and Technical Expertise :
- BSc or MSc in a technical discipline
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven skills in solving technical problems and debugging
- An ability to quickly learn new technical skills and concepts. Product training will be provided.
- Interest in a customer-facing role


Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise :
- Knowledge of German/ French is an asset
- OS systems (Linux, MS Windows desktop and server environments)
- Familiarity with the concept of Business Intelligence, OLAP, cubes, and DW
- Experience with relational databases (on-premise and Cloud) such as DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.
- Container & Orchestration technologies: Kubernetes, Docker Container
- Knowledge of or experience with HTTP and/or FTP servers, standard Windows desktop applications such as Excel or Access
- Knowledge of networks/security concepts (Clusters, nodes, Kerberos, LDAP, Active Directory, SSL, SSO)
- An understanding of the Business Intelligence Software
- Programming skills
